Will the Ricoh IM series black-and-white MFPs (IM 2500 / 3000 / 3500 / 4000 / 5000 / 6000) work?
Yes. Going by Ricoh's own pages, it can capture today with eSCL (AirScan), a network connection, scan to email, scan to cloud and a TWAIN driver.
Ricoh's black-and-white A3 copier line; the IM 4000 example model has a 220-sheet feeder that scans both sides in one pass.
Easiest path to one place
Scan over your network, no driver
This model speaks eSCL (AirScan), so a computer, phone or service on the same network can pull pages straight from it. Nothing to install on each desk.
How it can capture
eSCL / AirScan
YesDriverless network scanning. Apple calls it AirScan, part of AirPrint, and Mopria Scan uses it too. Nothing to install on the computer.
Yes. Ricoh's shared guides say Macs can scan with AirPrint and Android devices with the Mopria Scan app. These are general guides, not model-specific specs.[3][4][5]
TWAIN Direct
Check with usThe newer, driverless TWAIN. Apps reach the scanner over the network with nothing to install.

Network or Wi-Fi
YesConnects to your network on its own, so it does not have to stay plugged into one computer.
Yes. Network cable is standard. Wi-Fi is an optional add-on.[2]
Scan to email
YesPress a button on the device and the pages arrive in an inbox.
Yes. It can scan to email from the machine, and also to a USB drive, SD card or shared folder.[2]
Scan to cloud
YesThe device, or the maker's own software or service, sends pages to cloud storage.
Yes, with RICOH Smart Integration, a paid subscription. Ricoh says you can then save scans to popular cloud services from the machine's panel.[1][2]
TWAIN driver (classic)
YesThe long-standing way to scan. A driver installed on a computer lets scanning apps run the scanner, usually over a USB cable.
Yes. Programs on a computer can scan from it over the network, at higher detail than the machine's own scanning.[2]
Works with: Windows 8.1/10 and Windows Server 2012-2019; Mac OS X 10.13 or later; RICOH Smart Device Connector app for iOS/Android
