The ways a scanner can capture

eSCL / AirScan
Driverless network scanning. Apple calls it AirScan, part of AirPrint, and Mopria Scan uses it too. Nothing to install on the computer.
TWAIN Direct
The newer, driverless TWAIN. Apps reach the scanner over the network with nothing to install.
Network or Wi-Fi
Connects to your network on its own, so it does not have to stay plugged into one computer.
Scan to email
Press a button on the device and the pages arrive in an inbox.
Scan to cloud
The device, or the maker's own software or service, sends pages to cloud storage.
TWAIN driver (classic)
The long-standing way to scan. A driver installed on a computer lets scanning apps run the scanner, usually over a USB cable.

How we check: we only mark a path "Yes" or "No" when the maker's own product page, spec sheet or manual says so, and every model page lists those sources. Anything we could not confirm says "Check with us". Makers change features with firmware and region, so confirm before you buy.

Scanning as easy as printing.

Whichever way your scanner captures, FlowHub brings the pages into one place. SI suggests where each page goes, and one tap files it. See how FlowHub works
